Ready go

Mojave desert

https://youtu.be/3rs-cFctj6k?si=YLWnHLM1Le2nEOcW

This song will always remind me of driving through the bleak Mojave desert on my way home from Vegas. Let that be written in heaven's unchangeable heart

All that other stuff is true

The things I've posted beforehand. But it really comes off as overly morose when you write it down in some blog thing. The medium is the message. Also, Annie Hall is the best movie ever made. Let that be written in heaven's unchangeable heart.

my fan club is dead

Everyone who held me in the highest esteem without equivocation is dead. I've tried to make new fans but I guess it's not working. I'm just a regular piece of shit like everyone else, it turns out.

spiders in my eyelids

And ghosts in the cheese

Beautiful gardens by the cramps, such an underrated song

Fuck Donald Trump

Douche

I mean seriously, the guy's a douchebag. Even his most ardent supporters would not deny that. But we don't need a douchebag, we need an adult. I shouldn't even have to say this

But whatever. It's my flailing pissing in the wind. This song is great, and poignant. Tomorrow you're homeless, tonight is a blast.

I'm not looking to break the bank, I'm just looking for another night comped and a booklet of free drink tickets.

Having

Having a funeral playlist, or a musical tribute, is pretty stupid actually. How trite.  This guy died, here's his favorite song

I'm still totally having one though because I'm lame

Too bad they ended up playing at state fairs and Indian casinos and crap

Breathe deep, the gathering gloom. Watchlights fade from every room. Bedsitter people look back and lament, another day's useless and a year's spent. Impassioned lovers wrestle as one, lonely man cries for love and has none. New mother picks up and suckles her son, senior citizens wish they were young. Cold-hearted orb that rules the night - remove the colors from our sight - red is gray, and yellow white - but we decide which is right - and which is an illusion

Listen you fuckers, you screwheads

Here is a man who would not take it anymore here is

I love that little glitch part in Taxi Driver. I'm also typing this while listening to Revolution 9. I still love this song, it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Woohooohh

Some people are made of plastic
And you know some people are made of wood
Some people have hearts of stone
Some people are up to no good

But baby, I'm for real
I'm as real as real can get
If what you're looking for is real loving
Then what you see is what you get

What you see (what you see) is what you get (is what you get)
What you see (what you see) is what you get (is what you get)
I said, what you see (what you see) is what you get now, baby (is what you get)
And the real thing is the best thing yet (the best thing yet)

You know some people are made of lies
To bring you down and shame your name
But baby, I have good intentions
'Cause breaking hearts just ain't my game

All I want to do is love you
And sugar, I won't fill you with regret, no, no
If what you're looking for is real loving
Then what you see is what you get

What you see (what you see) is what you get (is what you get)
What you see (what you see) is what you get (is what you get)
I mean, what you see (what you see) is what you get now, baby (is what you get)
And the real thing is the best thing yet (the best thing yet)

Crazy Beauty

Healthy to find all these feelings inside

Ruth Buzzi

More like Ruth Buzzikill

In the 70s

There was a hip trend to act like LOL I drink all the time LOL I love liquor LOL, like Foster Brooks, The Dean Martin schtick, etc.

Now that weed is becoming legal / more mainstream, there's going to be guys who become pot guys, pot equivalents of Foster Brooks, The Dean Martin schtick, Etc, only with weed. And it's not going to age well and it's going to be looked upon as stupid in like 10 years

It is knowing

Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream
It is not dying, it is not dying

Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void
It is shining, it is shining

Yet you may see the meaning of within
It is being, it is being

Love is all and love is everyone
It is knowing, it is knowing...

... that ignorance and hates may mourn the dead
It is believing, it is believing

But listen to the colour of your dreams
It is not living, it is not living

So play the game "Existence" to the end...
... Of the beginning, of the beginning

Of the beginning, of the beginning

Someone needs to cover white punks on dope

By The Tubes. I've probably posted this before on this blog but fuck it, I'm old and this blog is too. Don't make me break out the old chestnut that Oh Yeah by Roxy Music needs to be covered by a contemporary Country artist. Seriously, it's a perfect fit.

In fact the entire album Donald Fagen The Nightfly

Is great. Okay bye

I can't wait till I move to the city when I finally make up my mind to learn design and study overseas. I'm sure I've typed those lyrics Nine times into this blog by now, but I love this whole album

Oh also

Donald Fagan's Maxine is godhead

Charkie azzawi. Jk, attn Charlie

Give my music a chance. I gave my dad's music a chance after many years of resisting it and ended up enjoying a lot of it. Give me the same courtesy okay bye

PS you're so cool

Try crawling like a viper through these Suburban scenes. Make love to these women, languid and bittersweet. My teacher questioned me when I used the word "languid" on something in grade school. I had to tell her it was from a Steely Dan song. Ask Jeff Cope, Charlie. I appoint him musical arbiter. okay bye

Drinking

Puts a rosey patina on everyday life. But, isn't that the main goal of life? Isn't that what we're trying to do with their lives, in other ways, every day? And, if you refuse to put that rosey patina on your life, aren't you declared insane?

One sweet dream

Pick up the bags, get in the limousine. Soon we'll be away from here, step on the gas and wipe that tear away

It's just a rumor that's been spread around town

By the women and children. Chet Baker

I would beg and steal

I jumped out of a car once, with a guitar, and sang a completely tuneless (yet heartfelt) version of Love Me to a girl. She didn't go for it. WTF

Let's roll the dice

In a fool's paradise

My love love to meee eeeee eeeee

Shoulder

Pink Floyd -Nobody Home

Is criminally overlooked and underrated

How

How much brain power is devoted to remembering lyrics? Sometimes I know all the words to a song that I haven't heard in years, and I wonder how much toll that's taking on my brain

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

Ladies and gentlemen, it is a pleasure to present on my album Mr. Dizzy Gillespie. Blow!

Yes I got some candy kisses for your lips  Yes I got some honeysuckle chocolate chip n kisses full of love for you
Probably a repost, because I like this song.

They need to start

Putting The Cramps songs in movies.
There, I called it. If you finally do, at least give me credit.

Some Jesus freak musician guy i used to work with

Once said that the guitar in The Cramps's "Call of the Wighat" was"classic swing guitar", even though he was diametrically opposed to it. I still agree with him, about this one issue only.

The generic music that they've used for years in the background of Morongo Casino commercials

Is a blatant rip-off of New Rhumba by Miles Davis. It infuriates me everytime I hear it. I used to hear it in other commercials too, but I guess Morongo Casino, in this area at least, has a monopoly on that stock music.

DO NOT DISCOUNT

The harmonies of Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66.
Bim Bom? Nigga please, those harmonies are outstanding.

Helllllooo Dad

I'm currently getting down to Wes Montgomery. Is music genetic, or is good music just good music? We may never know the answers to these questions.

Encores

In live shows...

They always pretend like they're leaving, the crowd chants and screams for them to come back, then they come back and play one or two more songs. If I was in a band, I would tell the audience if they had to remain perfectly quiet otherwise he wouldn't come back. See how quiet they could get. When you come back on stage, the crowd would erupt.

Blood sweat and tears

Spinning wheel is an indulgent yet audacious and ballsy song. I wonder why they didn't become more popular.

Mythos

Mythos

Drive West on Sunset to the Sea

I live nowhere near Sunset Boulevard, but I've actually driven West on Sunset to the Sea while listening to Babylon sisters. I have also experienced Santa Ana winds, and I've been to TJ. Oh Lordy, have I been to TJ. I've never jogged with show folk on the sand though. I've gotta with on that. Oh, hashtag steely Dan or whatever

The Doors

The only band that represents a specific time period. What I mean is, the doors always evoke an instant 1968 vibe. Any Doors song comes on and it instantly transports you to the late sixties, for better or worse.

Oh i can't sleep at night

Since you've been gone

I never weep at night

The love you take
Is equal to the love
You make
Aaahh-haaaaaaaaaaaaa

Climb on board
Where you leave's up to you

Leave your worries behind
'Cause rain, shine don't mind
We're ridin' on the groove line tonight

In cold water

There are men high up there fishing
Haven't seen quite enough of the world
Ooh, I ain't seen a sign of my heroes
And I'm still diving down for pearls

Oh, let me flow into the ocean
Yeah, let me get back to the sea
Let me be stormy and let me be calm
Let the tide in and set me free

I'm flowing under bridges
Then flying through the sky
I'm traveling down cold metal
Just a tear in a baby's eye

Oh, let me flow into the ocean
Oh, let me get back to the sea
Oh, let me be stormy and let me be calm
Let the tide in and set me free, set me free

I am not the actor
This can't be the scene
But I am in the water
As far as I can see

Oh, I'm remembering distant memories
Recalling other names
Rippling over canyons
And boiling in the train

Oh, let me flow into the ocean
Let me get back to the sea
Let me be stormy and let me be calm
Let the tide in and set me free, set me free

Set me free, I wanna drown in cold water

Cracks between the paving stones

Like rivers of flowing veins

Taint no big thing

To wait for the Bell to ring

Taint no big thing

The toll of the Bell

Uncage the colors, unfurl the flag

Heaven loves ya
The clouds part for ya
Nothing stands in your way
When you're a boy

Clothes always fit ya
Life is a pop of the cherry
When you're a boy

When you're a boy
You can wear a uniform
When you're a boy
Other boys check you out
You get a girl
These are your favourite things
When you're a boy

Boys
Boys
Boys keep swinging
Boys always work it out

Uncage the colours
Unfurl the flag
Luck just kissed you hello
When you're a boy

They'll never clone ya
You're always first on the line
When you're a boy

When you're a boy
You can buy a home of your own
When you're a boy
Learn to drive and everything
You'll get your share
When you're a boy

Boys
Boys
Boys keep swinging
Boys always work it out

So John Lennon

Longs for his mom in a spiritual and semi-mystical way in the song Julia, then later does the song God that throws all belief away? I wonder how he would feel about it now, if he was still alive.

You see, now that I'm old I realize so much more about life and its machinations and pitfalls. When I was younger, and an older person would tell me this type of thing, I would blow it off. But it's real. You gain more Vision as you get older. You always think you have maximum vision - when you're 5, 10, 15, 20. But it always gets wider. You just don't realize it. Blarr ramble ramble ramble

Isn't it a pity?

Now isn't it a shame?
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain

How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore?

Forgetting to give back

Isn't it a pity?

Johnno

People say I'm crazy, doing what I'm doing
Well, they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin
When I say that I'm okay, well, they look at me kinda strange
"Surely, you're not happy now, you no longer play the game"

People say I'm lazy, dreaming my life away
Well, they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me
When I tell them that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall
"Don't you miss the big time, boy. You're no longer on the ball"

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

Man,

Deacon Blues is one of my top 5 favorite songs ever. Let this be known, let this be broadcast.

I am forging ahead

In life, with whatever seems right to me. So far so good. Rad on all fronts.

I couldn't sing

Then I could sing, now I cant again. So unfair.

Guitar

Naive and wise with no sense of time
As I set my clock with a heart beat, tick tock
Violent and mild, common sense says I'm wild

Let's talk about cars

This song reminds me of death. You die, then you inexplicably hear Mexican radio as you're floating up. Then the EMT's/mortuary workers are also inexplicably speaking French as you lament the loss of trivial things. Then everything slows down and fades.

I drove

through the Mojave Desert once, listening to (the Anthology versions of) while My Guitar Gently Weeps and Something. With 400 horsepower and a broad by my side, it was iconic to say the least. A real dawn of man- history repeating-timeless ocean of sand thing. Not sure why, it just happened.

Someone should make a video of sweeping skylines and life in Manhattan

Set to Miles Davis's All Blues. I've had that idea since I was maybe 20, ex girlfriends will back me up on this. But I have no skills. someone make this ok go

Garota de Ipanema translated

Look what a beautiful thing
More full of grace
Is it girl
Coming and going
A sweet swing
Sea Way
Golden girl body
From Ipanema sun
Your balanced
It's more than a poem
It is the most beautiful thing
I've seen pass
Ah! because I'm so alone
Ah! because everything is so sad
Ah! the beauty that exists
The beauty that is not only my
That also goes alone
Ah! If she knew
That when she passes
The smiling world
Is filled with grace
And it is more beautiful
Because of love

Heatwave's

The Groove Line is still one of my top 20 favorite songs ever. I let some large kid named Sanders listen to my cassette tape of the song at Summer School, & I earned street cred from it. That's not why I like it though, the song just rules.

The guitar solo in

I'm Free by The Who is so bitchin. I'm no musician, but I sure wish I was. But I love that concise little guitar riff

Also

New Order - Procession is a great song

Jim Morrison

In "Five To One" from The Doors In Concert... Is good. To be honest, I forgot what I was originally going to write that's okay. No one read this except me
EDIT: Oh yeah. Going to say is that it's my favorite vocals by Jim Morrison. So manic, yet controlled.

So instead of a big bang, maybe it was

More like a de-arrangement of stacked matter? Has anyone looked into this?

Is it possible

That instead of a big bang at the beginning of the universe, that the universes may have all been stacked up in some way? Seriously.

You know what?

Ventura Highway by America is a solid, awesome song. Although, there are no "gator lizards" on Ventura Highway, it kind of makes no sense. I'm sure there's a deeper meaning, but I shouldn't have to research it, you know what I mean? hello future

The Who - live at leeds

Boy I love the version of Young Man Blues offa this album. It sounds like a combination of The Who, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath all at the same time. And Roger Daltrey sounds particularly vitriolic.

Matter of fact it's all dark

All that you touch
And all that you see
All that you taste
All you feel
And all that you love
And all that you hate
All you distrust
All you save
And all that you give
And all that you deal
And all that you buy
Beg, borrow or steal
And all you create
And all you destroy
And all that you do
And all that you say
And all that you eat
And everyone you meet
And all that you slight
And everyone you fight
And all that is now
And all that is gone
And all that's to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

When one has nothing in itself - When there is no longer a refuge -
When you can not escape - When you do not know it jogging
Black as night - Yes, black as my soul -
Black as the waters - in which I sink

Someone will simplify musical instruments in the next 50 years.

If

My dad were alive in this day and age of technological connectivity, he would be sending drunken texts telling his outlying friends to "get into" some obscure band or another. In those days you had to do it by phone or US Mail, now I can do it without a second thought over the Internets. I guess we all do it. The human condition. Whatever. Trippy.

So its Halloween

And you feel like dancin'
And you feel like shinin'
And you feel like letting loose

Whatcha gonna be
Babe, you better know
And you better plan
Better plan all day

Better plan all week
Better plan all month
Better plan all year

You're dressed up like a clown
Putting on your act
It's the only time all year
You'll ever admit that

I can see your eyes
I can see your brain
Baby, nothing's changed

You're still hiding in a mask
You take your fun seriously
No, don't blow this year's chance
Tomorrow your mold goes back on

After Halloween

You go to work today
You'll go to work tomorrow
Shitfaced tonight
You'll brag about it for months

Remember what I did
Remember what I was
Back on Halloween

But what's in between
Where are your ideas
You sit around and dream
For next Halloween

Why not everyday
Are you so afraid
What will people say

After Halloween

Because your role is planned for you
There's nothing you can do
But stop and think it through
But what will the boss say to you

And what will your girlfriend say to you
And the people out on the street they might glare at you
And whadya know you're pretty self-conscious too

So you run back and stuff yourselves in rigid business costumes
Only at night to score is your leather uniform exhumed
Why don't you take your social regulations
And shove 'em up your ass

Where are all the absurdists?

I am watching psych out right now, and in this movie and many other movies from the 60's there are so many absurdists. For instance, in the beginning scene of this movie, the Haight Ashbury district is filled with people with blank signs protesting nothing. I love that idea, but whatever happened to all of these absurdists? Are they alive? Dead? Incognito? PS I am using speech to text, so this is the most poorly worded blog post ever

I don't know why

But that fucking Paul McCartney/ Dave Grohl/krist Novoseliicociicic/ Pat Smear song on snl brings me to involuntary tears, drunk or sober. I just tested it again.  Closest I can come is that it feels like they brought Paul  out of some cryogenic/shitty/old man music freeze to sing another kick ass rock n roll song. Or something.  All I know is when the full band is jamming and there's that chord change near the end it brings  the tears to my eyes for some bizarre reason.

Ya fuckers

Catch me I'm falling so fast and I can't seem to find All the reasons I had when the purpose was mine Now I stumble so fast rolling into the night Kiss me quick before I land and am broken in two Keep me on the right track, hold my dreams in tact too -I get lost in this place - I get lost, yes it's true

down+in+the+seine_20132757.html ] Help me I'm sinking so fast into waters unplanned That I once held onto but have got out of hand Now the things that I loved are the things I can't stand

Squeeze me slow before I come to that part of the ground It's a million miles up and a million miles down I get lost in between and I wait to be found

And in the waters I sink and in the waters I drink Until I rise to the top which in truth is not To make you feel your alright, to make you feel there's no fight -

Ya

Good morning day, how do you do I wonder - what will you do for me? I should be on my way, I should be earning pay, I should be all the things that Im not -And Ive tried on my own, now theres nothing to keep me at home, Like my brother has too - gotta leave to get out of this view, You see they, tell you to move around -If you cant find work in your own town.

As I rise from my bed I can hear the old man Blaming heaven & mother for this 30 years with one firm, 13 months redundant, Yes Id say thats unlucky for some -

Now our tears fall like rain, as my mother walks me to my train, With a kiss & a wave - "come home weekends" - thats if I can save. I swear Ill take it out on the man -Who ever devised this economy plan.

All the love in the world - cant put -Dinner on the table -All the hate that I feel no love could put right

Good morning day, how do you do I wonder - what will you do for me? I should be on my way, I should be earning pay, I should be all the things that Im not -

And Ive tried on my own, now theres nothing to keep me at home, All the love and the strength has been taken by this government, You see they, tell you to move around -If you cant find work in your own town.

Fathers in the kitchen, counting out coins, Mothers in the bedroom, looking through pictures of her boys, One is in london, looking for a job, The others in whitehall - looking for those responsible!

REMOTE CONTROL MOON WAR

What a Moon In My Room nightmare... I bought some cheap Discovery Moon In My Room, a moon that you hang on the wall and control the phases with a remote control. Well somehow the remote stopped working. i looked up the manufacturer of "moon in my room" and it led me to Uncle Milton toys, so i wrote them and asked nicely for a new remote. Now some girl from Uncle Milton called me and asked for the model number so she could ship out the free new remote. It was only then i realized that this was a DISCOVERY CHANNEL MOON IN MY ROOM, not an UNCLE MILTON MOON IN MY ROOM. She almost balked at sending the remote but is going to anyway. i wonder if It’ll work? Or is there some war going on in the remote control moon industry?

(I just really wanted to use the phrase “Remote control Moon war”)

Enter A Post Title

Drunk, alone, listening to Django. MAN OF THE YEAR

WELLER

When I find you waiting hours; oh,
You’re there to save my life for our obvious goal
We’ve got a headstart for happiness
For our part, guess we must be blessed
For this feeling to be so strong
Tell me is that so wrong?
The space betweeen us for days has been so far;
I’ve spent a lonely week
Now I wanna be where you are
We’ve got a headstart for happiness, for our part
Guess we must be kissed by this force I feel inside
Now I’m not gonna hide.

All the roads that lead to struggles
Bring you back to where you need
Some reassurance in your own depth,
Only you can see, but let others feel
Peace in my mind I’m so happy to find
As I get on my trek with a headstart back to you.

When I find you waiting hours, oh
It’s my heart, not my head that takes control
And you’ve got to lead where your heart says go
And this hope that it turns out so
And that’s all that you can hope for
Can you expect much more?

Naive and wise with no sense of time
As I set my clock with a heart beat, tick tock
Violent and mild - common sense says I’m wild
With this mixed up fury, crazy beauty
It’s healthy to find all these feelings inside
As I get on my trek with a headstart back to you.

Bill Coyne is dead.

And now, even in death, the old punk rock groupie broads throw themselves at him one final time... Except now they are all middle aged and the "throwing" is done via Facebook.

Adios, Wilhelm.

Gee, boy, what do you have? You have plague?

There's an old joke. Uh, two elderly women are at a Catskills mountain resort, and one of 'em says: "Boy, the food at this place is really terrible." The other one says, "Yeah, I know, and such ... small portions." Well, that's essentially how I feel about life. Full of loneliness and misery and suffering and unhappiness, and it's all over much too quickly.

Aww, I love that movie.
